Once you had the RNY surgery, there is one thing that you immediately begin to notice .. and this is what I call the " Take- Home Box Overload ." This is what happens inside your refrigerator after brining you home all those takeout boxes in restaurants because you can not finish the meal. Even before the surgery, you often could not finish the meal while some restaurants serve such large portions. then pack the leftovers after a
meal eat- out seems natural to you , if you do it often.
Only problem: the takeout boxes can actually establish huge neighborhoods inside your fridge!
Second problem : You feel you do not have to throw all that food because you have learned from the first days of your bed that you do not waste food because of all the starving children elsewhere who certainly appreciate the food you lose, right ? Frankly, when you heard the phrase guilt that was supposed to motivate you to swallow , is not it feel even more compelled to not end up feeding and mail the unused portion to those starving children ? I never really understood that philosophy of telling me I better eat because some poor children do not have enough to eat .... Perplexity .
Third problem : because of guilt, you decide that you just " snack " on food in takeout boxes . So you grab a snack , a new snack , snack a little more, and HOORAY ... you have eaten everything in the box and you have not wasted food! Oh, but you did yourself a trick !
Bad Tour ? How ?
Consider that the food in this takeout box could contain 1500 to 2000 calories. So what? Well, when you eat the leftovers, you consume these ADDITIONAL 1500-2000 calories you do not need in your eating routine ... especially if you eat them as snacks , not meals. It is dangerous to leave these takeout boxes in the fridge thing when they call you to be consumed. Do not listen !
Here's what you should do instead :
If you actually plan to eat leftovers as "another meal part ," then you should pack according to the place in your freezer to eat later . You know that adage "out of sight , out of mind ? " ... Well, it is this basic concept . By doing this regularly, you 'll be able to make your portions frozen for a greater variety meals turn rather than eating the leftover time after time. How is it attractive to eat six servings of chili in a row ? This is not ... then freeze portions and eat later.
The freezer is your solution to stop the " snacking " on the takeout boxes . So use it as your new best friend, you new best friend - meal planner, and watch your calories !
Get use to the idea of throwing food is a difficult question, but it is something you have to get used to as well . The dog or cat will always be there to volunteer to eat what you can not ' , and animals will show you a deep devotion than ever imagined ! And your household loved you often enjoy giving them open to whatever they find in takeout boxes invitation.
Get a grip on this early if you sabotage yourself with those extra calories that will creep up on you if you fall pray to nibble food or guilt . As a patient RNY , you only consume a minimum amount of calories anyway .. must not fall into the trap of eating more than necessary. This could be a factor as to why you do not seem to lose enough weight or why you gain some back after some time.
Bottom Line : Take boxes can be dangerous ... tame before hurt you !
